View Full Version : Wolverine and the X-Men

Anyone else watching this one?

It's an alternate history where Prof X and Jean disappear in a mysterious explosion and Wolverine is left to pull everyone together. Magneto is running Genosha and a war between mutants and humans is set to bring about the apocalypse. (Not the character, just the end of the world.) It's got everyone, basically, but not always where you'd expect to see them.

I'd rank it above the original series and X-Men Evolution in both animation quality and story.

Sounds interesting. Might try to download a couple of episodes. I remember thinking Evolution was alright so if this is better, it can only be entertaining.

Evolution was good shit. Odd manipulation of X.Men set-up, just like this series, but both of them work.

I think, as long as you can get over the commercially driven idea to put Wolverine in such a central role, you will enjoy this series, because it delivers a good story.

The animation is quite good, but I'm no fan of the way Wolverine, as the alpha male of the group gets these ridiculously over sized biceps and I don't much like the Samurai Jack face either.

Haven't seen this yet but if I can, I'll try and check it out. Admittedly, I was one of the people who didn't like the idea of having this team led by Wolverine as it was a clear marketing campaign to try and drive up the hype for his upcoming film...Then I got over myself.

I still don't think it needed to be done in order to lead to success. It was just a 'sure bet' that, presumably, the producers enforced.

From the episodes I have seen, it's very much a Wolverine takes lead reluctantly with Beast as his confidant and second.

Other than Wolverine, Beast, and Emma Frost, I don't really recall who all's on the team.. or at least, I think they were from some promo shots and short videos I saw.. Anyone care to fill in who makes up the 'main team'?

I always like how these guys tend of have huge upper bodies and teeny tiny legs.

I tried Evolution, didn't take. Maybe I shall try this.

Ummm.... Kitty, Iceman, Cyclops, Storm. Angel and Nightcrawler are sort of on the team. Nightcrawler keeps getting side-tracked with different plotlines and Angel has a conflict of interest. Rogue is a backstabbing cunt as always, wavering between sides and untrusted by both.

Beast isn't really his confidant. That role goes to *SPOILERS*!!! :D

Thanks. That's not too bad of a team really, a lot of key characters that I like. I might search for an episode or two online to see how it is, but I'm not positive I'll go out of my way to find it.

And where should I move this thread?

MGM

Mind Candy, obviously. It's about a TV-show!

And do you really want me to move it? Will you pay me for it?

MGM

Dude, you can spoon me! Everything for traffic to Mind Candy!

I have no idea if I was serious about this being moved. It seems a borderline condition where the topic can belong in both forums, actually.

I'm moving it. People can bitch about it later if they want.

INJUSTICE! ABUSE OF POWER! AHHHHHHHH!

It's been a while, by the way, since I heard a cute woman liked a cartoon show.

Are you somehow implying that it is more "TV" than "comics related"? Grrr.

I'm all caught up on this show, looking forward to the next episode.

Since when is XIII an admin, btw? I tried to find a list and couldn't. I need to know who to suck up to!

Ok, so I finally saw the three part piolt and I'm about to watch as many as I can get through tonite.

Please tell me Colossus comes back. PLEASE let him come back.

And does anyone else think Forge looks way too much like Tom Green? I couldn't take him seriously.

Fasheem

You're not supposed to take Forge seriously!

I forget whether Colossus comes back. I didn't even remember him being in this. :o

Yea, i'm getting that. He's definitely in as comic relief, but when I first saw him I assumed he'd be like he used to.

Emo Cyclops just makes me laugh.

And that hurts.. :( I was thrilled today when I saw some action figures and he was one. Ha, that's probably the reason I came home to start watching it was seeing those figures.

This series is pretty cool, but not enjoying it nearly as much as Spectacular Spider-Man

I started watching it and it's fun. I miss the old Rogue (the one that could fly waaayyy back in the X-men cartoon), new Rogue is not as much fun. And where's Gambit? :(

Tragic Angelus

I haven't seen any of them past the Gambit episode. I really was enjoying int though.

Is Wolverine and the X-Men a direct sequal to X-Men: Evolution or does it stand completely apart from it?

It is a completely different universe.

Great, so I can completely skip X-Men Evolution!

Should I, for that matter?

Meh, I didn't care for X-Men Evolution, even though young Nightcrawler was the cutest little fuzzy elf and Scott McNeil was the voice for Wolverine. But that's just me.

Evolution was fun for awhile but I kinda lost track of it after Havok and Cyclops were augmented by Magneto.. after that I only heard bits and pieces from friends who watched it.

Whaaaat?

I always meant to finish watching it but I never did. I think I've only seen the first two seasons (out of 4).

Yea, apparently they did a huge season with Apocalypse and stuff but I never saw any of it.. I never knew when it was on to finish watching it.
