Batman died. Well, not really, but whatever. Point is, Bruce Wayne's out of the picture for the time being. There's this three issue mini 'Battle for the Cowl' that'll give us the solution on who the next Batman'll be (it's Dick, ovbiously).

Ok, so this melds together Morrison's Magnum Opus for Batman. It started with this run on Batman from 655-558,663-683. The "final" arc was Batman RIP where we saw Batman literally going insane with a new "version" of the Joker taking part in a scheme from the Black Glove. Then we jump into Final Crisis, where Batman was abducted by Darkseid's henchmen in the hope of creating a Batman clone army. There was a 2 parter in Batman (682-683) where we see Batman fighting these advances, all the while "living" a fictional life with Alfred trying to convince him to stay in the life where he was never Batman. Then he escapes from the henchmen eventually after overloading and killing the creature trying to suck his being outta him (it was what posed as Alfred). He confronts Darkseid with a gun + Radion bullet (only substance that kills New Gods). He tells Darkseid that this time he has gone too far, and he will break his code of no guns just this one time. He shoots Darkseid in the heart just as Darkseid lets loose his Omega Sanction beam thingies from his eyes. Batman goes "Gotcha. Hnnh" and the beams connect with him. At this point Superman finally makes it back to the current day and unleashes hell, rushing in to try and save Batman. He leaves holding Batman's lifeless husk, smoke still coming off it. It was established in Seven Soldiers: Miracle Man that the Omega Sanction beam forces a person to go through all alternate possibilities of their life, eventually overwhelming their system and killing them. But that is only for normal humans, Batman definitely isn't one of those. At the very end of Final Crisis we see Batman drawing on a cave wall, somewhere lost in the past. So he's not dead, just lost in time...

All Star Superman is 12 issues long and will make you cream your pants. Same with New X-Men. :p

False. New X-Men went to shit after the first storyline or so. I was begging for him to be taken off the title.

As for All-Star.. I've avoided it thus far because of Quietly's art, even though I hear the story is great. it'd be a read in a bookstore or borrow kind of deal first

OK, you know nothing as your post above clearly states.

Dismissed.

What, by disliking it I know nothing? Talk to me after you've read something with a decent writer.
