Another great read by Kirkman and co. Some of Zechariah's history is revealed and Wolf-man encounters the one who turned him into a Wolf.

Also, there is a quick meet-up/team-up with Invincible.

More later.

Within the second volume, some of Zech's past was revealed, who he was before he became a vampire, how he became one and what he did afterwards. Obviously there is more to his past than what was just revealed.

Meanwhile the police believe that Gary had killed his wife and have been searching for him ever since with one particular agent after him. Since his wife's death, Gary been on the run. He eventually made it back to the forest where he was first bitten and met the creature who turned him into a werewolf - who sought out so he can train under him.

Back at home, Gary's daughter has sought out Zechariah in order to have him find Gary so she can kill him. Zech, the manipulative a-hole that he is, is letting her believe that Gary killed his wife and is possibly offering to turn her into a vampire as well.

Wolf-man is turning out to be more enjoyable than Invincible. Where Invincible didn't really take off until the second or 3rd trade, Wolf-man has been fun since the first issue. Kirkman had Gary train under a vampire, and werewolf. I imagine Hampton will soon both sides of the vampire/werewold war from people on both sides of the conflict. Hampton's original mentor is turning out be an even bigger asshole than before is another nice twist. Whereas murdering his wife could be understood as an accident, lying to Gary's daughter and offering to turn her into a vampire is pure doucheyness.

I was most surprised that Kirkman introduced us to Gary's "father". Though I felt it was a little early for it, I'll trust Kirkman's judgement. The team-up with Invicible was nice as well, but I hope in the future, Kirkman won't do too many more crossovers.

The art is very cartoony, and at first I judged it too harshly, but I quickly grew to love it; it only adds to the fun of the title.

Indeed I owe you D: Conan, Walking Dead, Invincible & now Astounding Wolf-man. Your reccomendations account for a fair number titles on my pull list.

You need to list entire your entire pull list so I can see everything you're reading. Who knows, I may like a few other titles from there.

On the contrary, I myself, should look for new stuff.

My pull list is stagnant and you know mostly everything on it already.

I'm loving the full and 2-page splash fight scenes harkening back to the 80's....a point Wallah eluded to months ago with Kirkman stuff.

Mark's brother, Oliver, has the vilutrumite temper and power along w/ the disposition of a young kid. It's kind of a recipe for disaster.

Still, I like him.
