I am so danged indecisive.
Would anyone like to take a shot at helping me name two characters from my latest story?
I have a Mr. Normal charater currently named Max Collins.
But really, who names their kid Max anymore?
He is a nineteen-year-old guy who is living alone. He has a rather dismal life, until the events of the story of course cause him to change into the main character in a survival horror.
There is also his female foil. She is a blond hellraising street punk with a slightly crazy enthusiasm.
I think I wanna give her a relatively common name that can be shortened, perhaps unconventionally.
Like Minerva shortened to Min.
Any thoughts?

What about Cameron?

I think 'Max' has been the number one name for dogs for four or five years now, lol. I would go with something like Trevor, Cory or Mason.
For the chick... Sydney, Wilhelmina (Mina), or Jhislaine. But to be honest, Minerva works well. ^_^

Wait, which story are we talking about, eh? You'd better be working on your Dark Glass entry or I'll kick your ass then regret every second of the beating you give me. http://smilies.vidahost.com/cwm/cwm/disgust.gif
Jhislaine? That sounds like a nasty cough.

I went to high school with a girl named Jhislaine. Lovely, lovely, lovely girl and in general I like the sound of names like Giselle and Jhislaine. The drawback is, we called Jhislaine "Jizz" or "Jizzer". >.<
I saw you recommend 'Rowena' to Wally for his sister's baby. That's a pretty sweet name.

Hmm...I am considering Minerva or Sydney.
'Course I just can't find a guy's name that doesn't bug me to repeat (or that doesn't belong to someone I already know).

I've always loved the name Rowena. Also, Ivanhoe is a great book.

I know, I know Ty. That's why I would never suggest something like "Jason" to you. ^_^
On a totally CC note, heh, I think I'm going to steal one of Stoney's ARS friends' name for my Work In Progress. "Dr Pizza". I fucking love it. ^_^

Colleen for a girl, and for a guy...I dunno. Stephen, Mark, Matthew?

You could call the girl Harmony since the short form of that is Harm, which somehow seems appropriate given her hell-raising streetpunk-ness.
No idea for the guy, sorry.

OOO!! His name can be Herman, shortened to Herm! Harm and Herm! Yeah? YEAH?
And also, Herman is the green dildo.

What character!?
Cameron in the main character in one of my stories "WorldMaker"
It is a fantasy with a classic "collect things to rule the world" plot.
Have you written those stories yet? I wanna read. :D

That's really nice of you. :o
But my WorldMaker story was put on hiates a while ago when my computer inexplicably deleted two very long, very important middle chapters.

Actually, Cameron rings a bell with me too. Sarah and I named one of our superhero comic characters, Cameron, Vexshield. But Vexy's nothing like our Wulf here.

Yay4cameron!
I need to read these.
Creative Cafe will be filled up, it seems.

I'm not sure about that. I've been going back and forth on the idea of the creative cafe being private or password protected, or at least having some forum set up to be hidden from the public. Posting a story online for critiques could be considered it's first online publication, which might piss off an editor or two if they found out. I know it sounds corny, but it happens, the editor will type a few lines and google it, then you're screwed.
Than you should add a text file as attachment to your post.

Harmony is a devious power-hungry double agent.
A wicked-cool character that would piss readers off with her flip-flopping. ^_^

I've always liked the name Shlomo for some reason.
Will, Marc, Mark, Chase, Pete, Tim, Bruce Wayne

Hmmm, there may be some copyright issues with one of those. ^_^
I like the idea of Will...but it may be too much fer the guy to live up too. ^_^
It goes on the list.

Hey sis, any idea where I can hire an artist for my work? Know anybody or have any leads on starving artists? ^_^

I go to a school with game designers, game artists, and other artsy type. Odds are I can find somebody to help you with a project. What are you looking for exactly?

For the female, how bout Aubrey/Aubree/Aurbiana? Nicknamed to Brey/Bree.
And for the guy, I'd go with Alexander but nicknamed Xander...
Sorry, I think my geek is showing ;)

Artist for the comic I've been working on. Not necessarily to draw the books, but someone who can provide me with some character sketches, thumbnails, maybe some cover art. Stuff like that. It's not a superhero comic so I need an artist that's willing to keep the bosoms and biceps to a dull roar, you know?

Sorry, I don't really have a clue.
The only leads I have are, you know, manga artists. Heh.
The Wizard site mebbe?
The right artist might be hard. For your project you'll need realistic, non-superheroic characters drawn dynamically, and at times you'll need things that look computer-generated, etc.
And I, personally would like to see a smooth, original style of art (and for some reason in my head I see the art done in more faded colours, like a faux-water colour).

I wish I could use name "Xander". That would be an awesome name for the main character...but it would be obvious where I got the name from. :sweatdrop:
