Batman: The Black Casebook: False Fucking Advertising!

The Black Casebook trade paperback isn't directly related to Morrison's run on Batman. Black Casebook is a compilation of various stories written in the 50s and 60s that "contributed to Morrison's current storyline" so DC collected those stories into one trade paperback.

Obviously no one in their right mind would pay full dollar for a bunch of shitty stories written in the 50s so DC had Morrison write an introduction for The Black Casebook and on Amazon the author is listed as Grant Morrison rather than "Various". Another dishonest attempt to bilk people for a shitty product. They pulled the same thing with Batman: Secrets of the Batcave.

Fuck You Amazon and DC.

Yea, I read the synopsis and description. The original description was very vague about what exactly what the stories were. It said something along the lines of "See the stories that led to Grant Morisson's epic: Batman RIP & Battle for the Cowl". And when something is described like that, and the author is listed as Grant Morrison; its not too far fetched to believe Morisson wrote The Black Casebook.

Also, the cover used for the Black Casebook was one of the ones used from the single issues during Morrisson's RIP run.

I'd have to agree with the boys here. You're fairly familiar with Morrison, I'm surprised you wouldn't have had the inclination to believe if Arn hasn't raved about it, it can't really be a bit of Morrison's work?

Although, I do agree with you, retail sites need to tighten up their product info sheets! Some helpful standardisation would help!

Anything that is advertised as leading into Morrison`s story should be assumed it is coming from the Silver Age.

It is shitty marketing on their part though, being vague to try and sell more units.

I agree that they really need to upgrade the marketing and descriptions of Trades, not just retailers but the companies they come from as well. I want concrete issue numbers listed so I KNOW for certain it's the next volume or part of a particular series, rather then ending up buying a trade or two that cover half the same material, or in your case, something you didn't want at all.
