Did all the other Bat titles get put on hold while this is being released?
I was trying to find who was writing detective and batman after the gaimen 2 parter, but found nothing.

Tec and Batman are being put on hold for 2 months for Battle for the Cowl happens, then Morrison is returning to Batman in May (I think) and there is a short run on Tec with Rucka, IIRC. No clue who is going to be on Tec after Rucka, kinda hoping for Dini to be back but...

Sigh. Maybe I will pick up battle for the cowl then.

When is it switching to Batman and Batman and Robin? Or are those mini events in the Battle for the Cowl?

It hasn't been revealed yet. We know Tec stays around for at least a bit after BftC because NYCC had a preview for the Batwoman issues of Tec by Rucka. No clue about Batman & Robin, maybe in June? All we have now are rumors, but it seems eventually we'll get a Batman & Robin as well as a Red Robin title. No clue which main title is ending yet...

So who do you think will be Batman for awhile then?
I'm thinking Jason will swing into the Red Robin persona again, after his brief stint in Countdown. I'd really hope that Dick would become Batman, though it seems unlikely as he's the most logical and easily picked choice... I can't see Tim becoming Batman tho, or even being anyone besides Robin. I'd like to think that he'd stay as Robin for Dick, but not for Jason..

Hmm, why not Det?
Because.
Battle for the Cowl runs until May, with some tie-in minis and books like Outsiders going on. In June, Detective Comics returns to feature Batwoman by Rucka and Williams III for at least 12 issues.
There'll be 5 other Bat-Titles, including Batman, Batgirl, Batman and Robin (rumoured to be written by Morrison and drawn by Quitely).
I'm sure you can find all the info on either Newsarama or CBR.
I'll be following BftC in download and will probably pick up some of the books in June. Tec is a lock for my pull list, Batman and Robin too if the rumours turn out true.

Hmm, why not Det?
Ask the COMmunity about that, lol. Its almost always Tec at Newsarama and ComicBoards
And are we sure that both Batman & Batman and Robin will be running at the same time? I always figured that Batman will just become Batman and Robin, kinda like X-Men > New X-Men > X-Men > X-Men: Legacy but still continuing same numbering. I saw the ad for BftC, and the series are returning in June it seems. I was unsure of which month it was, just obviously chose the wrong month ^_^
From Newsarama :
The other comic book series beginning in June are:
- Batman
- Batman and Robin
- Red Robin
- Outsiders
- Batgirl
- Batman: The Streets of Gotham
- Gotham City Sirens (with implications being that Catwoman would be part of the book)
- (the aforementioned) Detective Comics
I'm waiting for full creative teams to decide what I'll be getting on top of Tec.

That is a shitload of Batman comics. How many will see 12 issues?
I think all of them will at least have 12 issues.
When you think about it, right now you have :
Batman
Detective Comics
Nightwing
Robin
Birds of Prey
Batman and the Outsiders
It's just as much.

Batman and the Outsiders recently became Outsiders again.. they're still fueled, funded, and 'lead' by Batman in a way, but I'm not sure they technically fall under the Batman banner any longer. Though Alfred is basically their new Batman pulling their strings.
Don't they have a Watchmen character in there as well now?

And I think some of them were on the chopping block before Battle for the Cowl ended them anyway.
I had heard of them considering cancelling BoP, Outsiders and Nightwing

He's called Owlman, but he's a very new (to me) character. He's a news anchor type, who hosts a show where he seems to do real world on the spot things. In the special Alfred talked to him right after he rescued a little girl from some kidnappers.
He's supposed to be a very good detective type of person, which is why Batman selected him.
Oh, ok. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yup. I rather enjoyed the newest issue, where it went back to being The Outsiders. Basically, Alfred gave the team the ultimatum of being on the team and having NO contact with the outsider world, or not being on it at all. They're going literally off the radar to deal with the biggest figure head of evil in the world, who supposedly was funding and directing EVERY villain, enemy, and battle the original Outsiders battled against. Hopefully it'll be really good.
How is the art? I've been exposed to a bit of Lee Garbett and thought it wasn't too bad, certainly better than the Daniels and Beneses you guys love so much.

Garbett's art wasn't too bad, but nothing overly amazing either. Simple and clean, and I'm sure he'll improve the more he draws the characters. My only complaint was that Black Lightning was drawn with a small afro growing, when he's been bald for the last oh so many years. Everyone was easily recognizable, though he seems to leave little face details at times, just doing the least amount he can.. but that's just how I took it.
Adam Kubert did the one shot special where Alfred collected them, and it was bad, but it's what you'd expect from him.
As for Benes, I love his work but he can't seem to produce it fast enough to appear in a regular book, and Daniels is ok, but nothing I'd go out of my way for.
At the least, I suggest grabbing or downloading the special so you can see them all collected by Alfred, and then issue 15 so you can get the premise.
Adam Kubert was bad and it's what you'd expect from him?
You DC fans will never cease to amaze with your ignorance.

Sorry, that was supposed to say 'wasn't bad' not 'was bad'
I enjoyed it, but like I said, it was expected from him. I wasn't expecting anything less.
OK then. That I can accept.

Trust me, I'm not entirely like meek? in the artist department. Not all of us DC fans are bad people. :)

I'd like to think that he'd stay as Robin for Dick
haha

Considering the artist you have to put up with, I wouldn't be surprised if your standard were all messed up.

which artist are you referring to there?
It's easier to list the good artists working for the DCU : Pete Woods, Dustin N'Guyen, Gary Frank.
I think that's it. :D
At Wonder Con, Paul Dini announced he would be the writer for Streets of Gotham and Gotham City Sirens.
No artists yet.
GC Sirens will feature Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy reluctantly teaming-up.

I'm very interested in Kate Spencer becoming the new DA of Gotham City now that Manhunter is canceled for good. I might have to start looking around for a Bat title or two to read.
Judd Winick is back on Batman. He'll handle the solo "Batman" book. Meh.
