View Full Version : XIII 2010 World Tour!
Ladies and Gentlemen, your honorable host is proud to announce the "XIII 2010 World Tour"!
Due to popular demand, XIII is going to fly to foreign countries and spread the XIII way of life.
The first two dates of the Tour have already been set :
Warsaw, Poland, from March 2nd to 5th
Prague, Czech Republic, from March 6th to 12th
More on this later.
Prague is awesome. When's Amsterdam due?

If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much, Arn. ^_^ Go to Amsterdam. ^_^
So basically, my company won this huge contract. We are going to do roadside assistance service for Michelin, the n°1 tyre manufacturer in Europe.
To do so, we'll need the help of Axa subsidiaries all over Europe.
What I'm going to do is I go to Axa Poland and Axa Czech Republic and train them on how to handle this new contract.
So yes people, this is a business trip.
And yes, I get to spend the weekend in Prague, all expenses paid by my company.
But, I'll be offline mostly until the 12th of March. Also, working with the Polish is fucking hard, they speak English like I speak Chinese.
And last but not least, I now have business card and I'm giving out a strong Patrick Bateman vibe. Those blonde Czech hotties better beware, I might have sharpened coat hanger and some nailgun hidden in my suitcase.
Have fun while I'm gone.
Oh, and no plan for Amsterdam on the World Tour. Seeing you in NYC (now, THAT is part of the World Tour) will be enough.
I'm posting live from Warsaw, taking BX to new territories.
Staying at the Holiday Inn which is quite good.

Are you going to scratch "BX" into the Warsaw office desks? :D
Enjoy Warsaw!

motherfucker...
And next week is Prague, including a whole weekend there, just doing tourism.
Tip: Klub Architektu is a great place to have dinner. Reservations probably required.
In Prague? Is it expensive?
Damn it, I just had to go through a one-hour presentation about the business of Michelin in Poland. IN POLISH!!!
I learned a lot, mind you.
In Prague, yes. And it's not that expensive, I remember having a three-course dinner and drinks for €25 a few years back. Prague is cheap like that. :D

I call bullshit. You were probably reading comics under the desk.
Dude, Michelin has 41 service providers in Poland but most of are the south half of the country in the Krakow/Warsaw/Lech area. The North, particularly North East, is far less served, therefore any breakdown there will be a bitch to handle.
Most of the Polish have breakdowns in France and Germany.
The main client is Link Z.O.O. with Dentressangle Poland coming in at close second.
Suck that.
Now in Prague which is full of tourist and so beautiful. I m loving it!

I'm glad you're having a good time!!! And congrats on the presentation!!!
Also, no one's said it yet so...
PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pics of Prague will be up on Facebook when I get back to Lyon and can be arsed to post them.
Found this Klub Arkitektur restaurant. Obviously enough, it is really close to a Sex Supermarket. No wonder Dutchie was in the area.
And yeah, they do not just have sex shop in here, they have sex supermarket.

ha so a much wider selection along with produce then? Sounds lovely!

What did you buy? Don't tell me you just browsed around. :D
I bought nothing. My stay in Prague crashed down when I fell victim to food poisining on Monday morning.
Spent 2 days in an hospital there but I'm now safely back to France.
I'm supposed to see a capitalist doctor this morning as I don't trust the diagnosis of those bolchevics there.
So, you didn't get that at the restaurant I recommended, right?

I'm sorry you got sick and had to lose a lot on your trip but hope it all comes around now that you're home.
On another note, never trust MGM's food suggestions...
So, you didn't get that at the restaurant I recommended, right?
I didn't even get a chance to go there.
What's a capitalist doctor?
It's a doctor that embraces capitalism and free world as opposed to a doctor who strangles children and worships Josef Stalline.

Well, I did get to spend the weekend visiting Prague. Come to think of it, the only part of my trip that I missed is the business one so it's not so bad. ;)

I'm glad you're feeling better but its so lame of you to fall ill on an all expense paid trip. I hope you don't plan on getting sick come October.:hehehm:
Tragic Angelus

Well I'm gald you at least got to visit and yea, major plus on only missing the business part. Do you have an idea on where you ate or what you ate that hit you so hard?
Malorie and I made an offer to buy a 2 bedroom flat. It's 70 m², with a 5m² balcony/loggia. 5mn away from Lyon's main train station.
We put € 195,000 on the table and have a appointment with a mortgage broker on Tuesday to see if we can get the money. If not, no big deal, we can just withdraw our offer.
One more step towards adulthood. The world of grown-ups is slowly swallowing me.
Sounds sweet, with a spare bedroom for guests from Amsterdam. :D
You'll have to share it with the comics though!
I can't think of better company! :D
I'm sure Natasha will be glad to hear that. :D
Ian Rankin canceled his appearance at the Lyon Crime/Noir Festival. I'm bummed.
Also, that new contract we won that I mentioned earlier? Well it's started and it's a fucking nightmare. Lot more calls than expected, unefficient workers, client already threatening to withdraw the contract.
I've had better days.
So as I said before, Malorie and I are buying an appartment. We'll get the keys on June 29th and move in the following weekend.
Yesterday we went to the solicitor's office for some paperwork and the guy made this very long speech which basically said "Now you're buying a place, if you're not married and something happens to either of you, the remaining one will be screwed by inheritance taxes and stuff like that".
So I guess we're getting married. Though neither of us had planned this at all.
And work is still a complete mess.
congratulations.
Who said romance is dead :)

You're such a romantic.
Can't you fix all that stuff without getting married? That's possible in Holland. What about getting it all written up in your will?
Also, 1.5 kids, a Volvo and a labrador!
wolf_2099
05-18-2010, 09:31 PM
Whoa whoa whoa whoa. You shouldn't surrender to marriage that easily... wait, you're French, nevermind.
Conrgats! Will there be a wedding? Are you excited, can we come?
Tragic Angelus
05-18-2010, 11:17 PM
Congratulations!
I'll be sure to get out my best grown up clothes and not make funny faces or run around during all the pictures!!
A will won't be enough if anything happens to either of us once we've bought the appartment.
It's mostly the inheritance taxes that will kill the remaining one so getting married is the best way to avoid that (makes inheritance taxes the lowest possible).
Yeah, I'm a romantic alright :)
So, when do we join you two for the party? :D
Stocky Boy
05-20-2010, 04:16 PM
Congratulations Arn - even if it's financially incentivised. :D
I know what you mean about inheritance tax. We've got similar crummy laws in the UK.

A week late but congratulations on your impending matrimonial bliss.
Mr Wallstreet
06-29-2010, 10:51 AM
So is this the day you move into your new apartment? If so firsties on congratulating you.
Nope, not yet.
We got the keys yesterday and we're moving Saturday. I can't wait for this whole thing to be over so Malorie and I can settle in our new life.
Right now, it's all boxes and cleaning and mortgage paiement and all that and we're both quite tired.
wolf_2099
06-30-2010, 04:12 PM
Aw. How much time do you think it will take you to settle into your new place? Are you two taking any time off to movie?
Malorie has tomorrow and Monday off. I have only Monday off.
I think the first step will be Saturday evening when we have everything in the new appartment. Unpacking boxes is much funnier than making them.
So yeah, next week can't come soon enough. :)
Awesome. When will there be pics of the new place?
I'm back!! And I now live in my own place (which is mostly own by the bank so far in 25 years, it shall be ours!! ;) )
Yeah, and I demanded a great World Cup final. You get what you can. ;)
Got me a new phone!

Will spend my weekend taming this wild beast.
Noice! Lemme know how it is, I hear different stories about the HTC interface.
Reminds me, this is the hoodie I've got (the top one):
http://fashionablyxlate.blogspot.com/2010/01/adidas-originals-star-wars-collection.html
Nice!!
They had some at the Adidas store in Lyon so I got this one :

HAH! I almost got that one in Washington!
BTW, what's up with those school kids in your country? Surely THAT's strike just to be on strike? I mean, the argument that there'll be less room for younger people on the job market is obviously ridicilous.
How's the situation there, anyhow?
Well as usual when there is a long strike, some school boys and girls decided suddenly they have political views and go on strike. I'm sure only 10% have a clue as to what they are striking for.
And as usual when the kids are striking and protesting in the streets, things go down to shit and there are big fights with the police.
Yesterday, Lyon city centre was a urban guerilla ground. On the main city square, 1500 protesters fought against roughly the same amount of policemen. It was crazy.
And of course, they burnt cars, broke shop windows and even looted a few shops. But yeah, no one is the political opposition is doing anything to make it stop. Might even be happy about it.
Fuckers.
I'm pretty sure one of the points of not making this stop is that roughing up school kids on national television isn't very marketable. It might even make things worse, no matter how hard those kids deserve it.
French boy, which comic news sites do you follow?
Bleedingcool.com
Comicsbeat.com
I'd say a big part of the articles there are crap but sometimes you'll find the interesting stuff.
The best is Robot 6 at cbr.
My parents' home was burglarized yesterday afternoon, in fucking broad daylight. The thieves broke in through a basement window and searched the house for valuable items. In the end, they only wrecked my parents bedroom because they found more than enough stuff in there : all the jewelry from the family and the 93 gold coins that my mum had inherited from her godmother some years ago. The coins were dating back to the days of Napoleon and were worth between 100 and 150 euros each.
While the material loss is huge, I'm still relieved that my parents were absent the whole time. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if they had come back home while the thieves were there.
And they live in a very quiet small city in the countryside, not some seedy suburbs of big city.
The chances of catching the guys who did this are almost zero.
Fuck.
Shit ,man, that's terrible to hear!
The well-being of your parents is by far the most important thing here, so it's good to hear they're both fine.
Yeah. But I guess now they are going to spend a lot of time kicking themselves for keeping the gold coins in the house instead of a safe at the local bank.
On a more lively note, I got my book from Greg Rucka yesterday. The third "Queen & Country" novel: The Last Run.
And Rucka came through with his word: if you read the acknowledgements at the end of the book, it says "To Arnaud Savry, for late night translation work. My French is rusty; yours, sir, clearly is not".
HOLY SHIT!!! MY NAME IN A GREG RUCKA NOVEL!!!!

XIII, I'm so sorry that happened to them. The loss of personal possessions that have both sentimental & material worth is terrible. Thankfully your parents are okay and, hopefully, they catch the scumbags who did this.
And congrats on getting a personal mention in a Rucka novel.
Next we'll probably see some of the conversations you had at Milanos in an Azzerallo's Spaceman

Sorry to hear about your parents' home invasion, I know how that feels and it's a world of stank. Thank goodness they weren't home.
Now I have to find this Greg Rucka novel and be all "See this guy's name? I know who that is." :)
French boy, you use Amazon for your TP's, right? You'll have to take a look at thebookdepository.co.uk sometime soon. They're fucking cheap and no shipping costs! I'm definitely grabbing the 100 Bullets and the Punisher MAX trades from there once I've scraped some money together.
That's what I plan on doing, yeah. Compare between Amazon and bookdepository. The discount isn't as good on depository but there's no shipping cost which can be quite high on Amazon.
Though, the good example is the Taschen DC book. It's still cheaper to get it on Amazon US with shipping than on bookdepository with free cheaping. So yeah, comparing is really important.

I've actually inadvertantly used The Book Depository while using Amazon. You know how some products you find aren't available from Amazon, but another person/site is allowed to use Amazon to list their goods? Well, on the UK site, this is known as Amazon Marketplace. The Book Depository tends to be one of the first in a list of 'other sellers' on the Amazon Marketplace.
In other news. Arn, from the latest House to Astonish podcast, it looks like Al Kennedy went to Thought Bubble last week. He's interviewed Anthony Johnson and Gillen and Mckelvie. I can now add Kennedy to a list of comics people I've failed to meet, when I otherwise should have.

I loved that 50th Episode. Great fun all around. I've tried listening to other podcasts but nothing beats Paul & Al.

I let Cap'n Jack know and he said congrats on both the wedding and the upcoming child.
You got any idea what's keeping Astonishing Spidey & Wolverine #4, by chance?
I wouldn't know. It ships once every two months so is it late for real?
Chris, please forward my thanks to CapnJack!
I don't know, I thought it was a monthly.
Well, after spending 4 days with the in-laws, where travelling back to Lyon today.
Very pleased about finally going home, knowing I'll have plenty of comics waiting for me. And also well, nothing beats being home.
I'll have you know I ordered Underbelly and teh first season of Homicide: Life on the street.
Oh!! You have to watch Homicide and let me know how it is. Also, let me know what subtitles they have.
And thanks for being my guinea pig! :D
I think Homicide has english subs and nothing else.
I trust your taste in comics and cop shows. :D
French boy, not sure whether you bought during the sale, but I got a mail today from Cheap Comics that they're having a Spring Sale. Lots of cheap TPB's and HC's again.
Yeah, got that email too. Checking their stuff. Looks like they added a couple of hundred HCs to their special deal offers but didn't see anything grabbing in those new books.
Also, Malorie might just kill me if I keep buying more comics when clearly, we are running out of shelves space.
Also, baby is due in 5 days now but no sign of him whatsoever. No water breaking, no contraction, nothing. Just one huge, round pregnant belly. :)

But beware... SOON IT WILL EXPLODE!
Everyone is having babies lately yikes. A couple friends of mine, an colleague, Kristas' brothers is due, our Mutant French baby will be here anytime. Yikes.
I hope everything goes awesome, Arn, wish Mallory well for me. Leave out the mutant part!
I'd rather have a mutant baby than a French baby. :D
Less than a week! Getting nervous yet? Good luck to the both of you!
Thanks guys for the wishes. Not really nervous but rather impatient.
Malorie is clearly fed up with that huge belly of hers.
Me, I'm kinda hoping he'll wait till his due as there is a Crime/Noir books festival this weekend in Lyon and I'd love to go there. :D
Priorities, man! Crime/noir and beer always over the birth of your first-born! :D
French boy, get the DVD of The Killing (Forbrydelsen), a Danish crime series. Awesome.
I'll add it to the list. (and blame you when Malorie gets mad about my DVD buying)
It's more a suspsense kinda crime show than a Law & Order kinda show, though. More to the liking of British whodunnits. But really, really good.
Did the water broke yet? Maybe you should tell her about getting new DVD's, she'll get so angry the water breaks immediately!
Malorie does not like your plan. ;)
Well, baby is due tomorrow. No water breaking, not the slightest contraction. I'm afraid this baby is going to grow up to be Jim Lee...
Well, two more weeks at most. At least, that's how things work in Holland. Then thet go get the kid.
Dude, you're into Massive Attack and Justice, right? What are their best albums, Blue Lines and Cross?
I'm into Massive Attack mostly. Massive Attack's first is the best.
Two weeks? Are you mad? In France it's 9 days at the most and that already sounds awfully long to Malorie.

Well, baby is supposed to come today but Malorie is doing fine, no sign of labor.
So we are going to the clinic this morning, they will do some monitoring to check if the baby is fine.
Blowing his deadline like this, I see a future in the comics industry for this baby. I shall call him JMS.

If it goes to induced labor, his name is "Jim".
So we went for monitoring yesterday morning.
They said baby is fine but we shouldn't expect him before Friday at the earliest.
So we are going back on Friday morning for another monitoring session.

Just so you know, you're baby boy is already a winner.
Krista's nephew was due at pretty much the same time as yours, and Simon came first!
So baby came back home yesterday afternoon.
It's been pretty hectic. He is having a very hard time adapting to the baby bottles we have here so the first time he needed to eat was very, very scary with him crying his lungs out to the point he exhausted himself to sleep.
Rest assured, the situation is better know, I ran to buy other baby bottles and now he takes his milk better.
Also gave him his bath at home this morning and it was ok.
Also, first night home : well, I didn't sleep much...
IT IS VERY SCARY BUT HE IS SO NICE AND CUTE IT IS WORTH IT!

04-10-2011, 08:52 AM
So glad to hear he's doing well at home now, and that you're doing well adjusting as well. I'm sure eventually you'll get sleep but from what I can gather, you shouldn't count on it anytime soon.
I hope you guys are all doing well, and hope to hear more updates when you can, I know you'll be busy!
congrats on fatherhood, make sure he grows up to be nothing like your least favourite brit :)
Thanks!
As for having the baby at home, it is one stressful business!
Well, we found out today that baby Simon has a thyroid disorder. We spent the day at the child hospital where they ran a battery of tests on him.
Result : his thyroid is too small and not at the right spot. So it is not working properly, not giving enough hormones. As a newborn, the consequences can be disastrous with his brain and nervous system not developing properly.
This is a disease that affects 1 out of 3000 person and Simon has it.
Luckily for us, it was diagnosed very early so we can treat him properly and he won't have any problems. We have to give him everyday drops of thyroid hormones and he'll be fine. When he grows older, we'll be able to replace the drops with pills.
The downturn is that this is a treatment he'll have ALL HIS LIFE.
This day has made us stronger and we will not let anything happen to our baby boy. Also, Simon went through this hard day like the great boy he is, barely crying through all the tests.
PS : Pls, keep this out of Facebook.

I understand thyroid issues and how serious they can be, and I hope you are all doing well with the news. Very glad to hear the disorder was discovered early enough that you can begin treatment. I'm sure the next few days won't be the easiest, but I'm sure you will all pull through. I'll be hoping for the best for all of you.
That really sucks, but at least you got there quick. Taking drops or pills his entire life is not great, of course, but at least it's very treatable. I'm sure everything will be well. ::)

She is dating you so something must be wrong somewhere... ;)
Seriously, it means a lot what you just said. We have no doubt that baby will be fine as we'll take very good care of him.
Thank you all for your messages!
Well, parenting is a 24/7 job. Don't have time for much of anything. I don't think I remember how to use a DVD or check a comics news website... ;)
Life has changed forever. Baby is so cool. :)

I'm sorry to hear about the thyroid problem Simon has, but glad this was spotted early. I'm pretty sure my boss's wife has a thyroid problem of a similar nature and that she's on permanent medication for it. She seems fine. She - like my boss - manage a team and are earning obnoxiously more money than me. So by fine, I mean 'great'. They're both on holiday to Mexico next week for a couple of weeks. So, let that demonstrate how a thyroid disorder hasn't curbed her ability to succeed.
Do you know how the thyroid drops and later pills taste?
I don't know about you Arn, but my mum forced me to take bloody cod liver oil capsules and multi-vitamins as a child. :p As a kid, I didn't much like the taste of those 'pre-breakfast' pills taken ritualistically, or even 'post-breakfast', when I thought I was going to get away with not taking them. It's funny how as an adult, if I was taking them now, I'd have no problem swallowing them and getting on with breakfast. As a kid, yuck!
Mr Wallstreet
04-25-2011, 08:45 PM
So sorry to hear about Simon's condition, but like the great kid he is he'll get through it with your guys help and support, and will be able to overcome it. You and Malorie have been doing a fantastic job so far in the short amount of time he's been around. I don't think there will be anything you all can't handle.
Btw, are you already planning what comics you'll read to him for his bedtime?
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words.
Andy, the drops must take pretty disgusting judging from Simon's face when he takes them. The doctor told us it tastes bitter and Simon will get used to it.
Fahran, I think I'll read him Preacher or Scalped. :D
Why not Y? Begin with the girl-on-girl action. :D

If you really want to mess him up, read him Geoff Johns books, so he'll be permanently confused on what decade it really is.
Johns might manage to retcon the thyroid problem, who knows?? ;)
I do have the Oz books from Marvel by Shanower and Young. This could be a good place to start. :)
Of course, it's all in English so baby will have to learn quickly!

The Johnny DC titles would be a good place to start getting him into comics, but whatever you do, don't get Simon into anything by Brian Michael Bendis just yet or else Simon will develop an annoying habit for talking for hours on end without actually saying anything of substance.

Super Dinosaur was AWESOME!
And yes, Tiny Titans is great fun! I still need to read it, but I've flipped through all the issues and bits here and there of it.

Dude, have you seen or heard of The Chicago Code?
I have, it got cancelled last Tuesday.
Such a good show.
From what I read, it had a strong start but got weaker as the season advanced.
Shame it got canceled though, hopefully, I'll catch a DVD release here.
Cancelled? Ah, too bad. I figured as much, though. First two episodes were pretty good. Guess I won't have to watch it any further, or do they have an actual decent ending to it all?
Too bad there aren't that many good cop/crime shows anymore that last a while. Even Brotherhood didn't make it past season 3 and that one's supposed to be the best of the past few years.

Arn, I sent your Wolves comic on Saturday. Beautifully packaged in an excessively wrapped way, if I do say so myself.
Let me know when you get it and if it's okay.
Cheers mate! I'll let you know for sure. Thanks again for this, I owe you.
French boy, Natascha and I will be on our campsite from Sunday August 28th 'till Sunday September 4rd. Meaning that we could be in Lyon:
August 27th 'till 28th, or
September 4rd 'till 5th.
I have my preference on the August dates, but let us know if you guys are in town in those weekends.
Sorry but it will have to be Septembre as we'll be on our holiday site on the August dates... :/
Ah well, that doesn't matter. So if we stop by on Sunday the 4th, you guys'll be there welcoming us with French cookies? :D
Of course we will! It'll be great to have you here. :)
So for the past month, our internet provider failed us big time and we had to rely on a 3G card to connect to the internet instead of our usual optical fibre 100M connection.
All back now which is a relief.
I mean, how is a man supposed to keep up with the internet with a 3G connection only? Not to mention all the comics downloading! ;)
Awesome! We'll be sure to stop by.
Did you get your money back for the month?
I have to call them tomorrow to make sure of that.
Oh yeah, you mentioned the possibilty of sleeping over when we were in Paris. If that still stands, we'll probably arrive somewhere in the afternoon on Sunday and leave early on Monday.
Awesome! We'll abuse your hospitality in the grandest of ways. :D

Arn, does the Standard Attrition message bard still exist?
Googling gives me nothing!
As far as I know, that one's gone.
Standard Attrition is indeed closed. Aaron decided he didn't have the time to take care of it so it's gone.
As for conventions, I know what I read on Twitter and the net. Why?

I hope so. I tried googling Con's in the states, and it's a bitch.
I googled Philadelphia, and all that came up is a dinky 1 day thing.
It seems Wizardworld and Comic-Con concs don't really come up when searching unless it's by name.
Anywho.
How is the kido? Is fatherhood a wonderful experience? Have you been peed on numerous times?
Been peed on countless of times. But kido is doing great, growing fine and big! He'll be 5 month-old on Saturday already!

Yay! Is he doing much of anything yet? Crawling, making goo goo sounds?
He is making lots of sounds, shaking his toys.
Also, he flipped over from lying on his back to lying on his belly but he doesn't want to do it again.
He is also very good at grabbing his wee-wee whenever his diapers are removed. That's disturbing.

Don't worry about the feeling himself bit, all young kids do that. They're just discovering their body. My niece did it for awhile and a boy my niece's age did the same thing. It's incredibly creepy when they do it, but at least it's natural. In fact, my brother used to teach a bit of Montessori school with young kids and they'd even do it then, which freaked him out since he thought they'd know better but another teacher told him it's natural and just make sure they wash their hands.

I do it all the time.
French boy, a few questions:
Parking near your place? How and where?
What time do you kick us out on Monday? Do you guys both have to work at 8:30 AM? :D
Is there a hypermarche or something akin to that near you? We needs us our French cheese and buying it on Monday instead of Saturday is much better.
Do you by chance have some freezer space left we might borrow for a few hours to put in out freezer blocks to kep our food cool during the ride home?
Right, parking near my place can be a bit of a bitch but on a Sunday, it should be alright. You are arriving on Sunday, right? In any case, call me when you're near and I'll check the street.
Monday : Malorie will leave early. I'm starting my shift at 11:00 AM. I'll have to drop Simon at the nanny's at 9.
There is a hypermarché not far from us, yes (Carrefour La Part Dieu) and they have a nice cheese counter.
I do have a freezer but it's a small one, I'll try to make some room for your ice blocks but it's going to be a hard fit.
Also : what time do you reckon you'll be arriving here?

I wouldn't worry about it. I started touching myself as a kid and never stopped. And look how I turned out!
Krista works with autistic kids, maybe 3-5 years of age, she has some ridiculous stories about them touching themselves.
Like at the wave pool.
I'm not really worrying about it. It's just weird to see.
I think his teeth are starting to try to get out and it's obviously painful for him.

Malorie never breast fed him. Baby bottles and formula for the win and quiet nights.
We've filmed him already. Poor guy is going to have some embarassing moments when we celebrate his wedding one day!
Oh and today is the first day at the nanny's.

If touching himself is the only way Simon can take his mind off the pain of teething, let the man touch himself.

We'll probably be leaving here around 10 and it's a 2 hour drive. That would get us at your place around 12. But, last week there were SERIOUS traffic jams into Lyon, so if we hit that, it might be later than that. We'll definitely update you if that happens.
If we can get to fit two or maybe three blocks that would be awesome. We've got a pretty good cooling box to keep things cool. As for Monday, we'll get up early with you guys and do the hypermarché. Hopefully there woný be too much trafficwhen we leave.
Also, not sure what your plans were for Sunday with dinner, but if you decide to go all haute cuisine on us: Natascha's allergic to pork (all kinds that you can think of).
Ok, no problem with all that. Should we wait for you to have lunch at noon?
That might be a good idea. If we'll be much later, we'll let you know. Just save us some pain du stoque! Or, in French, baguette.
Apparently it's about 2 hours and 40 minutes to your place, and not the 2 hours I had in mind. Since they'll come and inspect our place at 10, I assume that means we'll arrive around 1 at your place. If that's rather late for you guys to have lunch, definitely don't wait for us with that.
I checked with Malorie. We can wait for you. :)
Well, Google and our navigator differ their opinion for about 40 minutes. We'll simply let you know when we're near Lyon.

I've found online maps to be weird. I once had MapQuest direct me to an empty field with my real destination being about 5 miles east. I haven't had many problems with Google Maps but I have heard of weird things. Such as if you ask it to go from Japan to California it tells you to jetski across the Pacific Ocean, lol.
Either way, have a safe trip!

Frenchie, where do you get your 0-day torrents? And what were those original art sites again?
0-day are from demonoid.com or thepiratebay.org
Art sites, there is splashpagecomics.com and also comicsfanart.com Or something that resemble it.
Ah, alright. I was getting them from torrentz.eu/com/org and they have the 0-day from last week.
Say, hw did things with the kitchen go?
jedispyder
09-08-2011, 01:29 PM
You can also download individual 0-Day issues using the program DC++ (you do need something like 4 gig of comics in order to qualify for some hubs, I can provide you with the address for the hub I go to if anyone is interested).
I know the DC++ hubs, but I want to try the 0-day torrents for a bit.
jedispyder
09-08-2011, 04:57 PM
That's fine. I just find DC++ to be faster than trying the torrents, plus you get control over what you download (unless you're just downloading the individual issue and not the torrent pack that comes out at the end of the week).
I actually want the pack this time, so I don't have to type out all those fucking new DC comics to look for. :D
Somebody's coming on Monday to check out the kitchen.
Also, Rugby World Cup starts this morning!!!

It's called spanking,
Ha! When I look at him and say "Bravo!", Simon claps his hands. Also, if I say "Papa", he starts saying "dadadada".
I love him. :)
First Christmas present arrived. A new camera, a Sony HX7V. The previous dated from 2008, I had bought it before the first NYCC and it was starting to show its age.
We wanted one that would do great shots of Simon growing up so we decided to offer ourselves a new one.
